History & Tradition

For over a century, Coosa Country Club has offered an elegant and relaxed private club warm, friendly, family-oriented atmosphere. Nestled between the rolling hills and rivers of Rome, Georgia, Coosa Country Club offers stunning views in every direction and unparalled world-class amenities.


A local group of golf enthusiasts officially organized on August 15, 1909 to form a social club.


Golf Course Architect Charles W. Hall designed the back nine which opened in 1932.


Members celebrate the opening of their new Clubhouse after the 1958 remodel burned in December 1959.


George Cobb redesigned the course, moving the 7th, 8th and 9th holes, creating the practice range.


The entire Clubhouse underwent a remodel and was enlarged to fifty thousand square feet.


Over the course of a century, the Club has developed into a beloved asset to the Rome community.


Today, Coosa boasts an 18-hole golf course, 11 tennis courts, and an Olympic-sized pool complex.
